In addition, Brighthandle dramatically enhances the design of the door environment.

The history of Brighthandle starts in 2001 when Alexander Lervik, lead designer and co-founder of Brighthandle, came up with the idea to create a door handle that communicates with colored light. Alexander created a prototype that he displayed at the international furniture fair in Milan, 2001. The response was massive. Brighthandle was considered one of the most innovative products at the fair and the product was selected ’product of the year’ in the hardware category in the American magazine Architectural Record. Since then Brighthandle has been published in over 100 international design magazines, thousands of web sites, toured with several design exhibitions and fi gured in numerous TV-shows and movie productions.
